This weeks pic is a Siamang. Siamang come from Sumatra and parts of Borneo. They are of course endangered, like everything else in that part of the world. There is a family of Siamang at our local zoo. They are great climbers and even greater howlers! Great to watch for hours.

I think this is a beautiful animal. I don't believe I have seen one before. I might have, but don't remember it. It sure is gorgeous though.
ReplyDeleteNow, thats an animal I wouldn't want to run into in the middle of the night. Hey, you are absolutely right about King Kong! Man, I forgot about that movie. How could they snubb The Kong?Probably one of the only movies I'd watch twice, and would want to own on DVD.
