Dancing Around

Looking through some photos I took in Korea all that time ago. Here are some guys doing the traditional famer's dance or sameullori. They have ribbons on their heads which they move with a twist of their necks. It's pretty fun to watch, although very noisy!

Just a Tap

A tower to start the week. Yup, that'll do it.

In other news, I believe my blog may be the last in the world still using 'old' blogger. I just am not allowed to change yet. Maybe Blogspot loves my blog too much?

Tea and Revenge

While I was in Korea last year a nice young man offered to serve me tea. Who am I to say no to such an offer? The young man poured out some lovely green tea into one of the nicest cups I have ever seen. I was really looking forward to it. However, he committed a major faux pas by serving it on a lotus flower. Didn't he know my great uncle's friend's dog died choking on a lotus flower? Had he no heart? In a fit of rage I now deeply regret I beat him so hard he turned to stone... One day I will begin the healing process and turn him back, but I am just not ready, not now.

War on Nicholson

As blogger is playing up, I thought I would try the email option for posting.

I just have to get this off my chest. Jack Nicholson is really really annoying! You have no idea how much I can't stand that guy. As I mentioned in a previous post, the last straw was his performance at the Golden Globes. What is he? The Godfather of Hollywood? I wouldn't have been the least bit surprised if as the stars entered they had to bow and kiss Nicholson's hand. There, of course, is only one true ruler of Hollywood and that is Oprah. Nicholson is nothing. The only image I have of this man right now in my head is him playing a wolfman in Wolf. This to me says a lot. This is why we at San Nakji's World and all associated Colonies have decided to delcare war on Jack Nicholson. He has asked for this war and he has it. I hope he is happy!

My First Comet

So there is a comet passing Earth at the moment. It's called Comet McNaught, or to give it its' real name, C/2006 P1. Terrible name. I heard that it is one of the brightest comets in recorded history and, wow, it was amazing last night. I have never tried to take photos of the sky and below's efforts will show you why. I will try again tonight using some tips from a colleague of mine. My understanding is that the comet is best seen from the Southern Hemisphere, ie where I live, but I would love to know if you can see it in the North.

I tried looking at Haley's comet all those years ago and frankly I am not sure if I saw it or not. It was as big as a star. Did I see a star perhaps? Or maybe the comet. This one however makes no mistake!

It is truly one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.
