Mirage

Think this photo is a blurry one of a city? Nope. It's aphoto of the open sea. The city, complete with moving cars, is a mirage, ie there is nothing really there! A rare phenomenon in the southern Chinese city of Penglai.

San Nakji for President!

I thought mirages were a product of the mind and were unable to be photographed, as the camera sees what is actually there, not what the mind believes is there.

Hmmmmm, I'm very confused. How did the image get there???

Is it like some ghostly image???

Must find out more.

There is a special lens, that saturates mirage hue, so it can be photographed. I believe there was only 300 made.

Aha ! Yesterday I read "nope" for the first time in a book from Arnaldur Indridason, a wonderful Icelandic author. This word is now used currently by the young Icelander. I'm so happy to learn everyday some more English words ! I undrestand: "no hope". Nice day however !

This phonomenon may also happen in France. I've heard that from the town of Marseille it's sometimes possible to see Spain. The explication is in the earth curvature.
